EGO:

You ego net cost.

Martin:

Welcome to Ego Net cost live streaming and future episode one free 131 so I will do a

Martin:

talk here about Yule Tide, a good life and future plans for 2024 and I will see here

Martin:

starting out saying live on air YouTube.

Martin:

Check that out.

Martin:

Now I hear myself here and maybe that will get into the recording also and I did also promote

Martin:

it and announce it on Facebook and Instagram Stories.

Martin:

And my Facebook walls it a bit so I will try to do it pretty short and sweet here and I

Martin:

have been bit under the weather here so I have a bit of a cough so I will drink some tea

Martin:

here.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

But I wanted to get back on track.

Martin:

The latest episode 30 was with Maria Rubia,

Martin:

artist, a music artist.

Martin:

That was during the spring of this year as I

Martin:

said.

Martin:

And at the end talk about the plans for 2024.

Martin:

Now I hear my voice here.

Martin:

So I will try to get through on another

Martin:

podcast in Swedish called Victit Borictit important for real and what's really important

Martin:

could say with by Corin coach co host Corinne Blood, master certified coach.

Martin:

She asked about the bonus material at the end of the episode explaining about the word yule

Martin:

tide and in Swedish we call it yevl.

Martin:

And in English nowadays it's often called

Martin:

Christmas.

Martin:

And I have a podcast together with my co host

Martin:

Blair called the Secular Foxhole and I mentioned it to him a couple of times about

Martin:

the importance to point out the meaning of a word and so on.

Martin:

Now it's so used to say in English Christmas.

Martin:

But if you're a so called non believer or

Martin:

atheist or secular individual and you hear the word Christmas, you could respond a bit and

Martin:

wonder about it.

Martin:

Then it's important to know about the origin

Martin:

and original source, the pagan source, and also how the tradition have been.

Martin:

And you could say the battle of the word.

Martin:

So I will include in the show notes about yule

Martin:

and yule tide and the log that you put in the fireplace like a piece of wood, for example, a

Martin:

tree, like a Christmas tree, joke about.

Martin:

Now again, Christmas xmas.

Martin:

So the jewel tide.

Martin:

So I often like to say merry jewel tide in

Martin:

English to my friends, english speaking friends.

Martin:

And in Swedish it's jewel.

Martin:

So where it's coming from, talking about

Martin:

Christmas Xmas, I will include also in the show notes an article by Dr. Leonard Peakoff

Martin:

talking about why it's important that Christmas is commercial.

Martin:

And for me as a poor capitalist, air quotes here understand the value that it is a

Martin:

commercial holiday.

Martin:

And it's also holiday about celebrating end of

Martin:

the year and then with religion, others trying to force other things upon us, then it is

Martin:

important to understand this about commercialization and gift giving and

Martin:

celebration and good times and so on.

Martin:

So for myself, I will buy myself a gift here

Martin:

during Tide, a book by Dr. Peekoff and read by.

Martin:

I will take it as an audiobook on audible because I have credits there and it's about

Martin:

pets and it's read by Jonathan Hernig and it's Dr. Peakoff and Ein like in mine, rand about

Martin:

pets importance about pets.

Martin:

And I'm a cat person and I know Dr. Peekoff

Martin:

has a dog and also Jonathan Hernig has a dog.

Martin:

So it'd be interesting to listen, read this

Martin:

book and I got notification about that and I did a tweet or an x post as they say now,

Martin:

Twitter is now called X. And there it was Scott Holleran that informed me about this new

Martin:

book and he thanked Blair and myself, our work with the episode on Dr. Leonard Pico's

Martin:

birthday.

Martin:

So I will also include that in the show.

Martin:

Note he also recently in the section here good life in his newsletter Autonomia that I

Martin:

subscribe to.

Martin:

I will talk about that in upcoming episodes.

Martin:

Also about Substac and the subscription model and the value for value model and plans there

Martin:

and how you could support fellow podcasters out there.

Martin:

So he had done a podcast.

Martin:

Substack has now a podcast feature, you could

Martin:

say, because you could subscribe to the RSS feed and have it in different podcast apps,

Martin:

not a Spotify app, but you could have it in Apple Podcasts, for example overcast and

Martin:

others.

Martin:

And if you know the RSS feed and you get it

Martin:

from them from a substac where you subscribe to and you could do that.

Martin:

So that was pretty neat.

Martin:

And there he has posted an episode called 30

Martin:

Years in the press.

Martin:

And around 910 minutes into the episode, Scott

Martin:

doing a shout out and mentioning my name and also fellow blogger Gus van Horn that we had

Martin:

done nice work there with podcasting and blogging and thoughtful comments about his

Martin:

work.

Martin:

And it was very inspirational and thought

Martin:

provoking to listen to his career and his take on movie reviews.

Martin:

For the record, I am not a movie buff.

Martin:

So Scott tolerance work with like as he

Martin:

mentioned also box office Mojo.

Martin:

And then he's at scottoleran.com and now on

Martin:

Substac.

Martin:

It's very valuable for me.

Martin:

So to go to a source where it's reliable and giving you inspiration and giving you a list

Martin:

for upcoming views of a movie, going to a theater or renting it or watching it,

Martin:

streaming it online, so on.

Martin:

So I will check out that for next year his

Martin:

recommendation recommendations again and see what I could watch for during next year.

Martin:

So I will see here the time around 910 minutes.

Martin:

I will try to have it within 15 minutes.

Martin:

I will take another sip of tea here.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

My plans for 2024 and I will do to joke here I

Martin:

will do unbothering my Christmas shirt, you could say.

Martin:

And under it I have a t shirt and that's like related to and here it's saying ego blog

Martin:

egoist blogspot.com that was my first blog in 2002 on Google's blog platform.

Martin:

But back in the day it was owned by a small private company and I was a premium customer

Martin:

there on blog spot blogger.

Martin:

So my plan is to update that blog bit more and

Martin:

then I have a plan to like a daily short reading from Iran Lexicon, both words,

Martin:

concepts, philosophical ideas.

Martin:

Doing that every day.

Martin:

And then over a year it will be then several hundreds of short episodes.

Martin:

So being podcasting my first podcast since 2006.

Martin:

Then it will come up in an amount that if I would done it on a regular basis as a new

Martin:

media advisor, that will catch on maybe and also for search engine optimization, but also

Martin:

giving me some maybe new contacts, interests.

Martin:

One thing could lead to another.

Martin:

For example, podcast the secular foxhole with my co host Blair.

Martin:

That's one thing that I'm planning.

Martin:

And also continue with this to play with words

Martin:

tempest in a teapot or tours thunder.

Martin:

Now I will showing here on the video on camera

Martin:

play Toy plastic tour marvel.

Martin:

I think it's called Hammer Mjolnir name of

Martin:

Hammer Tors hammer.

Martin:

So I will use this on Thursdays and doing some

Martin:

ventilating about an issue, a topic.

Martin:

It could be politics, it could be in the news,

Martin:

et cetera.

Martin:

And then ask if it's really an important issue

Martin:

or is it a tempest in a teapot or storm in a teacup?

Martin:

In Swedish you say storm in a water glass.

Martin:

So with that, thanks for watching here live

Martin:

and then in replay when it's recorded.

Martin:

And then this episode one free 131 will be

Martin:

editing now during day by yours truly and then post production and show notes.

Martin:

And then I will publish it on a podcast hosting place captivate during the day.

Martin:

So with that I will say Cheerio and talk to you soon again.

Martin:

Bye for now.

Martin:

Cheers.

Martin:

Here I will show my notes for this episode.

Martin:

Pencil.

Martin:

I will do a photo on Instagram promoting this upcoming episode.

Martin:

Bye for now.
