Ego net cost.
Martin:Welcome to Ego Net cost live streaming.
Martin:I am Martin Lindeskop and this session will be then an editing edited version, episode 132 of
Martin:Ego Net cost.
Martin:And it's middle.
Martin:I have some talking points here mid year, week 26.
Martin:And in a way, I'm happy to start with ego Net cost.
Martin:Again, last episode or previous episode was end of last year.
Martin:I been having plenty of podcasts running and ego Net cost is my first podcast.
Martin:So now it's still first day in american time, it's Friday in swedish time, european time,
Martin:and then it's tourstog.
Martin:And that's first day.
Martin:Thorstag is with Thor God, norse God.
Martin:So that's in Swedish Thorsdog.
Martin:And I will use the Thor's hammer and ventilate a bit.
Martin:And I had to talk with my co host, Blair of the secular foxhole about the debate, the
Martin:debate night hash, debatenight on Twitter and other places.
Martin:And I was thinking of, should I watch this or not?
Martin:And in a way, I'm happy that I did that.
Martin:And also, why did I watch it for 90 minutes?
Martin:Plus, I had recently invitation by Robert Beagley that had been a guest and returning
Martin:guest on the secular foxhole, this professional speaker and also helping other
Martin:speakers.
Martin:So he has a course on the forum for speakers
Martin:elite forum.
Martin:And now I'll see here, it's live on air on
Martin:YouTube and LinkedIn.
Martin:And something is up with Facebook.
Martin:I don't know what, but I have to check with Boomcaster and Facebook settings.
Martin:So I was reflecting on that, on this debate between Trump and Biden and all the settings
Martin:and all the rules and specifications for this debate.
Martin:Of course, it's a challenge to then talk and do talking points, questions from this panel
Martin:for 90 minutes without any like, show notes that I'm showing now on live, like a note card
Martin:or some prompt for your memory and whatnot.
Martin:And then, of course, it's this back and forth
Martin:between two candidates, you could say, and opponents.
Martin:So, yeah, that's a challenge.
Martin:And why comment on this is, it's due to this
Martin:thing called freedom of expression, freedom of speech.
Martin:Free speech.
Martin:And to have a real debate.
Martin:This was a debate between two candidates, former president and the now president in
Martin:power.
Martin:And then it's the election year coming up
Martin:here, and who will run the country and become a commander in chief for next four years.
Martin:And yeah, it's a sad state, you could say, and I will do an ending and reflect on history a
Martin:bit regarding debates.
Martin:When it started with television, in a way, it
Martin:got popular in the sixties so this is something to ponder and think about.
Martin:And then in America, and I will talk more about this, how it is in Sweden and European
Martin:Union.
Martin:And we had recent elections very also that it
Martin:was with two candidates from Democratic Party and the Republican Party, but no third parties
Martin:or independent candidates.
Martin:And CNN, it's a private company and they are
Martin:of course allowed and up to them to set the rules for the debate.
Martin:And I think it's, is it ABC News that will have the second one, if it will be one, but
Martin:then you have to show in order to be another opponent or candidate or speaker, you have to
Martin:have certain polls and surveys, certain amount, I think it was 1015 percent or whatnot
Martin:to reach that.
Martin:And then the whole system, in order to have in
Martin:all the districts and all the places to have a candidate being a candidate on the ballot that
Martin:is challenged.
Martin:So that's something to think about.
Martin:The whole system in America as we see it now.
Martin:And that will be interesting to hear from
Martin:experts and scholars and what will be the future here.
Martin:So now I'm thinking of talking about for around 15 minutes and already talked for like,
Martin:yeah, five, six minutes here.
Martin:So, so what Robert F. Kennedy junior did,
Martin:because he is like an independent candidate, I think he's registered as a Democrat and he's a
Martin:bit of a character, you could say, with his heritage and relatives and ancestors and the
Martin:political line there and in the debate.
Martin:I don't know if swedish mainstream media will
Martin:talk at all about him as a candidate and what he wanted to do.
Martin:And you could listen to all, he's all over the place.
Martin:But he set up a site called the realdebate.com.
Martin:and there he, John Stossel, that is a libertarian leaning individual.
Martin:And he has his own show.
Martin:He was on Fox News, I think now he's running
Martin:his own show on the Internet.
Martin:He was in the panel, you could say then, and
Martin:then Robert F. Kennedy junior commented on Trump and Biden's answers to the questions.
Martin:And so it took longer time with this one, you could say.
Martin:And now I was watching the debate on something called, that's by James Critland.
Martin:He has a service called LiveNow News where you could have click on different squares or
Martin:symbols or small windows, you could say, and then a bigger window will open on the screen
Martin:and you could watch news.
Martin:So I watched the CNN live there and then on
Martin:the phone.
Martin:I drive then to watch go to the
Martin:realdebate.com.
Martin:and what's happened there?
Martin:They got some error message and maybe it was traffic there and lots of visitors and
Martin:viewers, and it was also should be linked to Twitter or x there.
Martin:I also got an error message.
Martin:And then over time, they went to rumble the
Martin:video service so you could follow it where you had the chat thing and comments and thumbs up
Martin:and down so you could follow that.
Martin:So I watched that at the end also.
Martin:And at the end, it's like these two minutes, they had this closing statement or remarks.
Martin:And then, of course, Robert F. Kennedy did that.
Martin:And you all have to practice on your speaking skills.
Martin:And I'm doing that also myself.
Martin:So that's why I'm so thankful for Robert
Martin:Beagley inviting me to this forum and course, for speakers over a year, for a year time.
Martin:So with Biden, but with Seclus Vauxhall, my co host Blair, he had a joke that is not so fun
Martin:in a way, when you think about it, but it's going in the lines like one can't complete a
Martin:sentence and one is sentenced to jail.
Martin:So you hear Biden, his images and expressions,
Martin:facial expressions, having a hard time stumbling with the words.
Martin:And then you have Trump's way of doing things with his mimics and, yeah, doing his gestures
Martin:and so on.
Martin:And then you listen to Robert F. Kennedy.
Martin:I think he has some kind of issue or how do you say, condition with his speech.
Martin:I don't know what it is, if it's something with his throat or something.
Martin:It sounds very.
Martin:Yeah, a special thing to listen to.
Martin:So it was hard overall.
Martin:The thing that was the panel was because often
Martin:in tv studios, they could be very harsh.
Martin:And also that they ask you questions and don't
Martin:listen to the answer.
Martin:But there, I think it was pretty
Martin:straightforward.
Martin:And, of course, you could wonder about how
Martin:they pick these different questions.
Martin:And especially at the end, it was this, that
Martin:Trump was not answering that about if he will accept the election and the results, and also
Martin:about this violence with the January 16 that happened, with the storming of the capital and
Martin:so on.
Martin:I don't know if Joe Biden got that question.
Martin:They should get the same questions.
Martin:But I didn't watch that.
Martin:So that's something to think about.
Martin:And so I will continue doing this on
Martin:Thursdays, live streaming around 15 minutes, talking about stuff and ventilating a bit in a
Martin:civil manner.
Martin:But that's the good thing, again, that we have
Martin:freedom of expression and we could have a debate, discussion and discourse.
Martin:So at the end here, I will include in the show notes when I edit the episode and post links
Martin:to an article in Wired magazine online about TikTok live and independent candidates and
Martin:third party candidates and how Robert Kennedy have attracted viewers there.
Martin:And also reviews and summaries about the debate.
Martin:That I will include.
Martin:And following along here as an end note here
Martin:is could you think about how the debate was tv debate, television debate between Nixon versus
Martin:Kennedy in 1960s.
Martin:They're so called people who listen to the
Martin:radio and I will check with the survey.
Martin:But when they said Nixon so called one debate.
Martin:But when we saw him in the tv studio, we saw that he was having these facial problems and
Martin:was on the spotlight in his face and all kind of things that they could you trust this
Martin:person? So when Kennedy was polished and his things,
Martin:so that was something that had lots of analysis and discussions about that and maybe
Martin:that have shaped the whole debate thing in modern times.
Martin:And there something that maybe you could think about with Trump and Biden, that you looked at
Martin:Biden and maybe thought that he looked like Nixon.
Martin:And when you looked like Trump, he's not same polished as Kennedy, but he was very secure in
Martin:himself, even if he had his tics and jargon, his gestures.
Martin:So that's something to think about.
Martin:And then the whole discussion about this.
Martin:What will happen now before the election and what will Biden be the running person or will
Martin:Camilla Harris step in or somebody else? And also, Svend, is it time for third party
Martin:candidates to be in the debates also? In either way.
Martin:But I liked what they did with this realdebate.com and how you could use new media
Martin:in order to have your voice and have your saying so.
Martin:With that I say thanks for watching and talk to you soon again.
Martin:Bye for now.
Martin:Radhe ego net goddess.
